Or a coffee project could be its own daily chipping away at a non-work/productivity related goal! Reading great works, writing a poem… endless possibilities.
I used to have a coffee project of reading from a book that helps me grow in some way - on writing, education, productivity, parenting, etc. Thank you for the nudge to get back into that! I didn't call it my coffee project, but now I will 😊
I work from home and when my kids were really little, it was frustrating to try to get to everything in a day. My husband worked a rotating shift, so at the time I was up and ready for coffee, he might have left 3 hours before or still be sleeping.
I created a different type of "coffee project". I would start the coffee pot and race it to empty the dishwasher. We weren't great about loading the dishwasher as we went, but we would run it every night without fail. By racing my coffee pot each morning, I got a quick win, a little adrenaline hit, and I always knew the bottles and sippy cups were clean, put together, and in the same spot - the cabinet. This made the whole day easier and smoother - no fumbling to find pieces or checking 3+ places for everything I needed.
My kids are grown or nearly grown now, and the dishwasher has been their job for close to a decade at this point. LOL
I love this idea of a quick morning project to get the day started on a high note, and the sweet memory of racing my coffee pot while the kids cheered me on.
