I began tracking my time continuously in April 2015. I originally planned to track for a month. Then I decided to go for a year. After my year of time tracking led to some interesting projects (see this essay in the New York Times, which then scored me an invitation to give a TED talk) I decided to just keep going.
These days this habit feels a lot like brushing my teeth — and takes about the same amount of time (three minutes a day, more or less). Here are a few more observations from the approximately 470 weeks I’ve tracked on weekly spreadsheets.
