The mindset shift that makes anything more doable
How to coach yourself through upcoming anxiety-producing events
Traveling with my family always makes me a bit anxious. Partly it’s that there are so many of us. Making sure five kids have packed everything they need isn’t particularly pleasant. Then there’s always the matter of getting to the airport (will there be traffic? Enough parking? Security or customs lines?). The preschooler might misbehave in transit, or desperately need to go to the bathroom at an inopportune time.
It’s easy to let these worries take over everything else. But since we travel a fair amount, I’ve had to figure out a mindset shift for this, or any other anxiety producing event. So here’s what I remind myself:
