Even busy people have some downtime. But when there are lots of things on the to-do list for the day, and lots of places to be, it can be hard to recognize that downtime and enjoy it.
One strategy? Take micro-vacations.
A micro-vacation is a little spot of relaxation built into the day. Even if you have other things coming up, you carve out a little time to enjoy doing very little.
For instance, sometimes on weekends in between shuttling kids to various places, I like to go sit on the hammock for 15 minutes. I know the time won’t be eternal. But I’ll set a timer on my phone so I won’t be constantly checking the clock. Then I look up at the sky or read a magazine for a bit.
