I always format spreadsheets that I'm sharing so that they look good when printed.

A lot of people think the quality of the work is the work.

Usually, it is not.

Usually, the receiver’s experience of the work is the work.

That is why what Laura writes is key. A recommendation buried in a wall of text, a deck delivered too late to absorb, a useful answer sent in the wrong shape. All of that can make good thinking feel strangely unimpressive.

Gift wrapping is not fluff.

It is respect for the moment your work actually becomes usable.
