From the vantage point of May, summer might seem long — but it isn’t endless. I’m a big fan of saving time where we can in order to have more time for adventures and memories. Here are some of my favorite little changes that will help you save time all summer.

1. Put sunscreen (and bug spray) by the door. You might even put an extra bottle or two on the porch. Or in your car. The point is to have it where you need it, and not need to run back into the house to get it on your way to any outdoor events where these items would be helpful.

2. Consider signing up for before and after care with camps. Not because you necessarily need the extra coverage. If you are doing any of the drop-offs and pick-ups, and there is a long car line, paying for a little extra time will move you out of the regular car line, and these off-peak drop-off/pick-up times might be much quicker. Perhaps this is a niche tip, but I found that picking up one kid at camp at 4:00 p.m. could literally save me about 30 minutes of sitting in the car each day vs. picking him up between 3:15-3:30 p.m. (when camp officially ended).
