Mondays are seldom easy. Even if you love your job, getting in bed on time on Sunday night can be challenging, which makes the morning rocky. Two weekend days can knock you out of the groove of your routines.
So, if you normally pack your lunch, or your kids’ lunches, here’s a quick tip to make Monday easier: buy something pre-made when you go to the grocery store over the weekend.
I got this tip from my Best of Both Worlds co-host, Sarah Hart-Unger, who shops at Trader Joes on Sundays. While she’s there, she picks up prepared salads (like a chicken Caesar salad) for her kids and her for Monday. Throw in a bag of pretzels and an apple or something like that and lunch is done.
I like this idea because many people do grocery shop on the weekends. A prepared salad can keep for a day. I’m a big fan of kids buying lunch at school, but if that’s not an option, or if they don’t like the offerings, this does make the process easy. If people don’t like salads, there are often other prepared foods that might work in a lunch too. So why not pick one up? You’re there at the grocery store anyway, and now that’s one more task knocked off your to-do list.
Love this! Monday nights have turned out to be juggle of activities for our family so I've taken to making an extra batch of whatever we have Sunday for Monday night. It's a big relief to know we can move quickly when no one is sitting down to dinner on Mondays this fall.
